Such a great environment, lovely to speak in Spanish, enjoy a Estrella Galicia and have a meaningful conversation. You don't need to be Spanish to support this lovely club! Just come and enjoy a beer. Definitely will come every time I am back in ACT.
This is a good meeting place for people who gave an affinity with Spanish. The place is run on a voluntary basis and every first Sunday they serve Paella for lunch. But earlier that day yhey have a Spanish butcher who visits with Spanish products.
Look one of the last Spanish clubs in Australia come here make this place prosper and improvements to this place will happen. At the moment the club building it reminds me of a scout hall from circular 1996 and im at my Sisters baptism and were playing on stage. Look i want this as Spanish Australian to prosper come here to Canberra the Churros are real and not that south American San churro rubbish and the hot chocolate takes me back also the Paella is great chicken/ Prawn or Veg this event occurs on the first Sunday of the month. Theres some poker machines if you want to flutter a lounging area and tv. It would be nice if the club can prosper so renos can happen more club vibes like keno and tab can happen an idea they can have a nice alfresco section. But none of this can happen with out bums on seats so do go its in a quiet location plenty of parking.
I've not been inside the club - it was locked at the time of my visit - yet they do have a most wonderful stand of olive trees and also a few chestnut trees. I really hope that someone harvests those olives as they look very healthy. Harvest time must be coming soon as there were many wind fallen, ripe olives on the ground.
First Sunday of every month has an authentic Spanish deli, churros and chocolate in the morning and Paella for lunch, great day to chill and let the kids run around.
