Moncees Restaurant has become one of my favorites! The quantity of food is well worth the price, and the flavors are consistently amazing. The quality is premium, with careful attention to detail in every dish. The service team is polite, quick, and professional. You can feel their commitment and dedication to delivering a great dining experience.

Wow, what a fantastic find in Ballarat! We have eaten at many Indian restaurants in Brisbane, Sydney and Gold Coast, and tried many different dishes. These guys served up delicious, authentic dishes with beautiful use of spices. The butter chicken is a medium heat dish, so maybe ask for mild if the kids are having any. The chicken sagwala was amazing! And the korma prawns were plump in a delightfully creamy sauce. The rice was an extra special surprise, so good we ordered extra! Definitely worth finding this restaurant, the staff were really good. They just need a selection of different naan breads to go with these yummy dishes (only plain naan available). Enjoy!

We visited Moncees Restaurant and Bar in Ballarat in search of authentic Malayali food, and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we entered, the warm hospitality and cosy ambience instantly reminded us of home. We ordered ghee rice with beef roast, kappa biriyani, and ghee rice with chicken fry – and every single dish was absolutely delicious. The flavours were rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced, just like the food we grew up eating in Kerala. The beef roast was tender and beautifully spiced, the ghee rice had that authentic homemade aroma, and the chicken fry tasted exactly like the traditional Kerala-style fry we find in our hometown kitchens. The kappa biriyani was another highlight – soft, flavourful, and cooked to perfection. After a long time, we finally found a restaurant in Ballarat that gives us that “back home” feeling. It’s rare to find a place overseas where the food truly captures the soul of Kerala, but Moncees has done it exceptionally well. Highly recommended for anyone craving real Malayali flavours. We will definitely be returning again and again!

I recently visited this place and was truly impressed! The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was lovely, and the service was excellent. The staff even made the effort to light the wood fire outside for us, which was a nice gesture. However, it was still a bit chilly since we were the only table seated outdoors at the time. The vegetarian pasta was really tasty and well-cooked. Unfortunately, the chicken butter curry and chicken parmigiana were a bit disappointing. The chicken was quite tough and dry—hard to chew—which made the dishes less enjoyable.
