A true hidden gem right in the city! Every dish was absolutely delicious, made with fresh ingredients and full of flavour. You can really feel the care and passion behind each plate. The service was friendly, attentive, and efficient, which made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for a night out with friends or a special occasion. Highly recommended. Iโll definitely be coming back! Special mention to the chefs in the kitchen, thank you!!
Disappointing. So much to enjoy about this restaurant and yet it failed to match up to expectation. The good bits. Friendly staff, hard working and clearly running between tables to keep things working. Some of the dishes, especially the seafood, were excellent. The sashimi mosaic of tuna, salmon and swordfish was great with a delicious lime and coconut ceviche. The conette stuffed with beetroot was interesting and shows that the chefs want to try new things. Yet the disappointment side. Olives that were so hard that it was difficult to tell the difference between olive and stone. A great piece of sirloin served on a cold plate, instantly making the medium rare steak tough and chewy. The bearnaise sauce was still chilled and congealed, straight out of the fridge, losing both its freshness and texture. Raising this with the busy waiter just got a reply that was how it was meant to be served. On clearing the table, the other waiter noticed the congealed mess and apologised. The photos tell it all on this one. Avoid the window seats. Normally these would be better, but the view is of a side street infested with huge rats. Us and the table next to us took initial delight at the size of the rodents but rapidly felt more disturbed by seeing so many scurry from the building we were sitting in. Overall, great potential and we saw some lovely food being prepared and served but in our case this was an experience that we would not want to repeat.
Delicious and creative menu. I ate as a solo diner and the menu was perfect for me to try a variety of things. I did the $99 vignette tasting menu, which included 11 unique dishes/bites. Ambience is lovely and it was fun to watch the open kitchen plating dishes.
From the moment I came in service was excellent with everyone greeting me and our blond haired, young waitress was attentive and friendly throughout the whole time making it an even better experience. We were celebrating a birthday and they even gave us a complimentary dessert. Food was great - particularly liked the zucchini entree and the amuse bouche. We ordered the 600g sirloin which was divine. Perfectly cooked. Barramundi and dessert was good too not too sweet/heavy. I was not a fan of the pork crackling as it was a bit too crunchy/hard to bite/eat. For the mosaic sushi plating was beautiful but think I wouldโve preferred a stronger flavour like soy sauce and wasabi instead of the passion fruit sauce. Portion sizes for entrees were generally good, that could be shared
What a pleasant surprise Ette has been. Every dish was consistently delicious, the wine was brilliant and service was so warm and attentive. Lovely relaxed bistro atmosphere with moody lighting - just a gem of an establishment. We love you, Ette team!
