Stopped here for lunch while visiting Adelaide. It was busy so we had to sit outside. Good came quickly. Service was really good, the managers were very friendly and funny. Iโm ur server helped us with some navigation request and even provided some additional spots to check out. Portions were nice sized. Empanadas were really delicious. Nice place to go to buy with so many to choose from you probably canโt go wrong anywhere.
Niche spot in the market, sitting inside is quite crammed, outside is better if you share dishes as the tables are a bit bigger. Food was fresh and portions good sized. Sangria is okay but with lots of ice cubes it waters down quickly. Cocktails are good, not exquisite as in a bar but decent.
Discovered Cumbia in my Entertainment App so decided to treat ourselves to something new for lunch before doing our marketing. Friendly welcome, sat at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. (Cheese croquettes, meatballs, squid ink linguine) Compliments to the chef who got the flavour balance just right. (Weโve encountered too much overly salty cooking at other venues!) Highly recommend their Pork Meatballs (family recipe) which was melt in the mouth and perfectly seasoned. Will be back to try more menu items.
Had a wonderful lunch, the service was genuinely warm and welcoming. The scallops and arepa were absolute standouts, full of flavour and beautifully done. I would have personally preferred the bread served with the meatballs to be toasted, as a little more texture contrast would have made the dish perfect to me. Overall, a fantastic experience and Iโll happily return.
Hereโs a long overdue review for an amazingly tasty meal on 9th May. Bar Cumbria and Kitchen is a small restaurant on the Grote St side of the Adelaide Central Market serving foods inspired from varied South American and Latin countries. The food is designed to share - though you may want to hog some dishes all to yourself! Being small, bookings are recommended, particularly for larger groups. This was my second visit. Itโs popular, and once you have eaten there, youโll understand why. We were lucky to grab a seat for dinner during a Friday night market shopping trip. Our host made sure we were looked after for food and drink, whilst making sure his staff attended the other diners needs. No one was left waiting long for anything that night! We had a meal of shared plates: empanadas; patatas bravas; Argentinian steak and roast broccoli on a Lima bean puree. The wine and cocktail were also delicious. The empanadas were lovely, crisp pillows of deliciousness. 3 to a serve with mixed fillings. The Argentinian steak was perfectly cooked to melt in the mouth tenderness. A touch of char flavour from the grill. The roasted broccoli was a serious treat and almost stole the glory from the steak! The Lima bean puree provided a silky accompaniment, and the crunchy seeds a wonderful textural contrast. We will definitely be back!
